The town has thriving commercial zones along Harlem Ave., Cermak Rd., and the historic Route 66/Ogden Ave. which runs diagonally through the city. Commuter transportation is readily available at the three METRA/BNSF stops: La Vergne, Berwyn, and Harlem Avenue. The local school districts are, #98 and #100; with two high schools, Sterling Morton, and Sterling Morton West. Some of the largest employers are Loyola McNeal Hospital and Campagna-Turano Baking Company.
